Livestock Farming Wastewater and Sludge Dewatering
 Industry Background
With the rapid development of large-scale and intensive livestock farming, the volume of wastewater and sludge generated has increased significantly. Livestock wastewater is typically characterised by high organic load, high suspended solids and complex composition. Without proper treatment, it can pose serious environmental risks.
As environmental regulations tighten, livestock operators increasingly require efficient, stable and easy-to-manage sludge dewatering solutions.

 Technical Approach
To address the high moisture content and fluctuating characteristics of livestock sludge, the project adopts a mechanical dewatering-based treatment approach. After conditioning, the sludge enters the dewatering system, where gravity thickening and mechanical pressing are combined to achieve efficient solid-liquid separation.
Operating parameters can be flexibly adjusted according to incoming sludge conditions, ensuring stable dewatering performance under varying farming operations while reducing downstream disposal costs.

 On-site Photos
The photos below show a Haibar dewatering system installed in 2021 at a large-scale livestock farming park in Vietnam. The equipment is used to treat sludge generated during the pre-treatment of livestock wastewater.
On-site operation demonstrates stable performance with significantly reduced sludge moisture content. The high level of automation has eased operational and maintenance workloads, delivering reliable results and positive feedback from the end user.
